Working out with epididymitis?

After going to the doc for pain behind the scrotum, and suspecting a hernia, I've been diagnosed with epididymitis. This is often associated with STDs, but I'm 99% sure this isn't the case for me. I read that it can be caused by urine reflux while lifting heavy. The problem is that this has been a recurring problem. It happened the first time after squatting heavy last fall, but it went away after dropping my workout routine after a move. It has come back since getting back into lifting, even though I was careful to empty my bladder before lifting. Has anyone else dealt with this? What happened? Should I continue working out and just deal with the pain? Thanks for your help.
